Issue Description
I need to understand how to use the 'Rename Items' function in the Publisher in Archicad to customize file names using Autotext Keywords.
Solution
In Archicad, the Rename Items function in the Publisher allows you to customize the names of output files (e.g., PDFs, DWGs, or other formats) using Autotext Keywords. This is especially useful for maintaining consistent file naming conventions or adding dynamic project information to file names.
Use the Rename Items... Function
1. Access the Publisher Set:
- Open the Publisher Sets in the Navigator.
- Right-click the desired Publisher Set or individual item and choose Rename Items.
2. Apply Autotext Keywords:
- Use the dropdown to select Autotext Keywords such as:
-
<Project Name>
: Inserts the project name. -
<Layout ID>
: Adds the layout ID. -
<Layout Name>
: Includes the layout name. -
<Publisher Set Name>
: Uses the name of the publisher set. - Combine these with static text for customized naming (e.g.,
"<Project Name>_<Layout ID>_<Layout Name>.pdf"
).
3. Preview File Names:
- The Rename Items dialog shows a preview of how the final filenames will appear for each layout or document.
4. Save and Publish:
- Once configured, the customized names are applied during the publishing process.
