Description
You generate a zone schedule and area values appear with decimal points and decimal places in the schedule cells. The measured area values do not match your office standard because they show values like 12.35 m² instead of whole numbers. Changing the Zone settings or schedule fields does not remove the decimal places from the calculated area column.
Solution
This behavior occurs because the number of decimals in schedules is controlled by the global Calculation Units and Rules preferences for area not by the schedule itself. By changing the Area Unit decimal settings in Calculation Units and Rules you can display zone areas in the schedule without decimal points.
Adjust the calculation units for area
-
Open the Calculation Units and Rules dialog:
Use the main menu path Options > Project Preferences > Calculation Units and Rules...
Locate the Area Unit section in the dialog where you can set Decimals and Extra Accuracy.
Click the Decimals pop up under Area Unit and set it to 0 to remove all decimal places from area values in schedules.
Set Extra Accuracy to Off so that no additional decimal values appear as superscript or extra digits in the schedule.
Click OK to confirm and close the dialog then regenerate your zone schedule so that the calculated area column updates to whole numbers without decimal points. - If the schedule does not update immediately close and reopen the schedule view.
For more details on Calculation Units and Rules settings see the official help page: Calculation Units Preferences
If you want to use different decimal precision only in a specific schedule field this is currently not supported since calculation units apply to the whole project and all schedules that use them.
