Issue Description
When you export a graphic override combination from one file and import it into another, fills display different colors than expected; the rule appears to import correctly and affects the right elements, but the visual result shows different color tones despite having the same materials in both files.
Solution
This occurs because graphic override rules reference pen numbers rather than specific colors, and pen sets between files often have different color assignments for the same pen numbers. Even when building materials are identical across files, the underlying pen set definitions control the actual colors displayed. To correct this, you need to transfer complete attribute sets using attribute manager.
- Open the source file containing the correct graphic override display
- Navigate to Options > Element Attributes > Attribute Manager
- Select the Pen Sets tab in the left panel
- Choose the pen set used with your graphic override combination
- Click Append >> to add it to the transfer list
- Click Export and save the attribute file
- Open the destination file where colors display incorrectly
- Navigate to Options > Element Attributes > Attribute Manager
- Click Import and select your saved attribute file
- Choose Append or Overwrite as appropriate for your pen sets
The Attribute Manager provides comprehensive control over attribute transfer between files, ensuring that graphic override combinations display consistently across different projects. When graphic override rules reference specific pens, fills, or materials, transferring the complete attribute set eliminates color discrepancies caused by different attribute definitions.
