Issue description
When deleting a fill in a detail drawing, all annotations placed close to it simultaneously disappear from the drawing despite not being grouped together with the deleted element.
Solution
This issue occurs because the labels are associated with the fill. By default, Archicad automatically deletes associative labels when their parent element is deleted. To prevent this behavior, you need to convert the associated labels to independent labels before deleting the fill.
- Select the label you want to preserve.
- Hover your mouse over the label without clicking it. The element it is associated with (the fill) will highlight, confirming the association.
- Right-click on the label to open the context menu.
- Select Convert to Independent Label from the menu. This breaks the connection between the label and the fill.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for each label you wish to preserve.
- Now you can safely delete the fill without losing your annotations.
If you need to check multiple labels quickly:
- Select a label that might be associated with the fill.
- If you see the fill highlight when hovering over the label, it confirms an association exists.
- Right-click and choose Convert to Independent Label.
Alternatively, to prevent this issue when creating new labels:
- Activate the Label Tool.
- In the Info Box, set the Geometry Method to Independent Label.
- Place your labels without clicking on any existing elements.
When you need associative labels in the future:
- In the Info Box, change the Geometry Method back to Associative.
- Click on the element you want to label.
