Issue description
When deleting a fill in a detail drawing, all annotations placed close to it simultaneously disappear from the drawing, despite not being grouped together with the deleted element.
Solution
This issue occurs because the labels are associated with the fill. By default, Archicad automatically deletes associative labels when their parent element is deleted. To prevent this behavior, you need to convert the associated labels to independent labels before deleting the fill.
Tip: To check if a label is associated with an element, hover your mouse over the label without clicking. The associated element (in this case, the fill) will highlight.
- Select the label or multiple labels you want to preserve.
- Right-click anywhere in the model space to open the context menu.
- Select Convert to Independent Label from the menu. This breaks the connection between the label and the fill.
- Now you can safely delete the fill without losing your annotations.
To prevent placing new associative labels as you work on your 2D details:
- Activate the Label Tool.
- In the Info Box, set the Geometry Method to Independent Label.
- You can now place your labels as independent labels.
When you need associative labels in the future:
- In the Info Box, change the Geometry Method back to Associative.
- Click on the element you want to label.
