Issue Description
When preparing a Door and Window Schedule, it may be necessary to standardize the 3D preview's appearance, such as presenting elements in black and white. This can help improve visual consistency and clarity by removing color variations. Can a Graphical Override be applied to achieve this effect in the schedule previews?
Solution
Applying a Graphic Override to the 3D previews in your Door and Window Schedule involves using Cover Fills to control the surface color.
Create a New Graphic Override Combination:
- Go to Document > Graphic Override > Graphic Override Combinations.
- Click to create a New Graphic Override Combination specifically for your Door and Window Schedule.
Define a Graphic Override Rule for Doors and Windows:
- Inside your new Graphic Override Combination, create a Graphic Override Rule that applies to doors and windows only.
- Set the Criteria to include Doors and Windows.
Adjust Override Styles:
- Set Line / Marker / Text Pen to Black to ensure all lines appear in black.
- For Fill Type, select “Air Space” and apply it specifically to Cover Fills to simplify surfaces.
Set the Fill Background Pen to (-1), which will apply a transparent effect to Cover Fills, eliminating any background color.
Apply the Rule to the Graphic Override Combination:
Once you’ve configured the rule, ensure it’s applied to your new Graphic Override Combination by confirming it in the settings.
Assign the Graphic Override Combination to Your Schedule View:
- Navigate to the View Map where your Door and Window Schedule is located.
- Apply the Graphic Override Combination to the schedule view to implement the black-and-white 3D preview.
