Issue description
There are a variety of reasons why things might be hidden in a view. To find them, see the checklist in this article.
Solution
Go thorough and check the following view settings to find the element that is not displayed in the view.
- Document > Layers > (Layer Combinations) - Items might be on a hidden layer. Turn on all layers.
- Document > Renovation > Renovation Filter Options - Items might be set to be hidden on certain renovation filters. (There is an option to display an element on only one given Renovation Filter: Show an Element in a Single Renovation Filter Only
- Document > Partial Structure Display
- Design > Story Settings - (Story has zero height; stories should not have zero height in most cases.)
- Object Settings > Floor Plan and Section panel > Floor Plan Display > Show on Stories setting
-
View > Elements in 3D View > Filter and Cut Elements in 3D There are multiple things to check here:
-
- the stories shown in 3D
- the effect of the Marquee if you are using it
- the type of the element might not be selected to be displayed in 3D
-
- The element is being acted on by a Solid Element Operation
- The element might be very far from the origin. > Go to the 3D window, turn on all layers and Zoom > Fit to Window to see if there are any rogue objects far from the model.
Note: The graphics in the 3D window can degrade if either the entire model is very far from the origin OR there is a random object very far from the origin. See more details and troubleshooting steps in this article: Far from origin - troubleshooting guide
