Issue
Archicad cannot find the license. It was working until yesterday, and now it opens with a warning that it cannot find the license.
Solution
Remark: If you have opted for the conversion of your software key-based licenses to cloud licenses (subscription), the conversion process has likely just been completed recently.
The conversion from software license to cloud license involves downgrading software licenses from Archicad version 29 to version Archicad 25. For this reason, Archicad 29 may now report that the license is unavailable.
Although cloud licenses allow to use Archicad 26, 27, 28 and 29, the problem may arise if you have more than one cloud license. During the conversion process to cloud licenses, only one cloud license is assigned automatically to the company administrator, while any additional licenses remain, by default, unassigned to any member.
How to resolve:
- To use the additional licenses, the company administrator must first invite one or more users to join the company, following the instructions in the following article:
Add new members to a company
- Once the invited users have accepted the invitation to join your company, the administrator can assign them the cloud licenses, as explained in the following article:
How to assign a cloud license to a Graphisoft ID account
- Alternatively, you can create a group that includes the relevant users and assign all licenses directly to the group:

Licenses assigned to a group become floating, allowing users belonging to the group to use an available license as needed, as explained in the article:

Start Archicad with the correct Graphisoft ID
After assigning the license to a member or a group, you must ensure that Archicad starts correctly with the login credentials (Graphisoft ID) associated with the new cloud license or the group it belongs to.
To verify that Archicad is properly authenticated, log out from the current user using it as shown in the following image.
Exit Archicad and restart it.
At the next authentication (registration) prompt, use the correct Graphisoft ID to which the license or the group license has been assigned.
Archicad will recognize your cloud license and start correctly.
Archicad 27, 28, and 29 automatically recognize the cloud license, while Archicad 26 must be updated to the latest version Archicad 26 Update 5, which you can download from this link:
Archicad 26 Update 5
After downloading the update file, close Archicad 26 and perform the update.
Reopening the updated Archicad 26, it will recognize the cloud license assigned to you or your group and will start normally.
