Issue description
This article is for users of Archicad Solo, the stand‑alone product variant available only in selected markets. When you attempt to assign a second Solo license to a user who already has a Solo license in use, the license management system displays an error message stating that the license is already in use. The second Solo license cannot be assigned to the same user account.
Solution
This behavior occurs because the licensing system does not permit multiple licenses of the same type to be assigned to a single user or Graphisoft ID. A Solo license is designed to be used by one individual user, and the system prevents duplicating the same license type to avoid licensing conflicts and ensure compliance with software licensing terms.
To use the additional Solo license, follow this approach:
Create a new Graphisoft ID for the additional user. Visit graphisoft.com or access the Graphisoft account management portal to register a new Graphisoft ID. This account should use a different email address and will represent a separate user.
Assign the second Solo license to the new Graphisoft ID. Once the new account is created, your license administrator can assign the additional Solo license to this new Graphisoft ID through the License Management interface.
Sign in with the new account on the second machine or for the second user. When starting, the new user should sign in with their own Graphisoft ID credentials to activate their assigned Solo license..
Key Points to Remember
License assignment rule: Each Solo license is tied to a unique Graphisoft ID. The Graphisoft ID represents an individual user, not the license itself.
Multiple devices with same user: A single user can work on multiple devices sequentially, but only one device at a time. The license must be released from one machine before it can be used on another.
Company accounts and individual accounts: Your company may have a company account that manages licenses. Within that account, individual Graphisoft IDs must be created for each team member who needs their own Solo license.
