Issue description
Listing surface names for door leaves and frames in door schedules is essential for creating comprehensive documentation and specifications.
This article provides a step-by-step guide to customize your door schedule to include these important material parameters.
Solution
Archicad door objects contain various parameters for surface materials applied to different components such as frames, leaves (door panels), and glazing elements. These parameters can be accessed and displayed in schedules to provide detailed material specifications for construction documentation.
- Open your Door schedule.
- Right-click on the schedule in the navigator and open its Scheme settings.
- In the Scheme Settings dialog, navigate to the Fields panel.
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to the Add Fields button.
-
Select Library Part Parameters from the menu.
-
Browse to locate your door object in the library list. Go to BuiltInLibraryParts.lcf > Library > NecessaryLPs > Door Opening.gsm
(Alternatively you can search for a specific object by changing the Select object by: option from Folder View to Search.)
- Look for surface-related parameters such as:
- Frame Surface (gs_frame_mat)
- Glass Surface (gs_glass_mat)
-
Leaf Surface (gs_leaf_mat)
- Click Add to include them in your schedule fields.
- Repeat this process for each surface parameter you want to include.
- Arrange the field order using the up/down arrows in the Fields panel.
- Click OK to apply the changes and return to your schedule.
- Select a door in your project.
- Open Door settings (Ctrl+T or Cmd+T).
- Navigate to the Model panel.
- Ensure Override Surfaces is turned off to allow individual surface assignments to display.
Tip: Save customized schedules in your templates for reuse across projects.
