Issue Description
The project I’m working on requires to have a separate schedule for Skylights. How can I Schedule Skylights properly?
Solution
We need to apply appropriate criteria that distinguish skylights from other similar elements, such as windows and openings.
Here is a step-by-step guide to scheduling skylights effectively in Archicad:
1. Understand the Criteria for Separation
Skylights created with the skylight tool are a distinct element category in Archicad. However, note that for custom skylight objects you will need additional criteria in the Scheme settings:
- Element Type
The simplest way to separate skylights is by their element type. - Archicad Classification
Archicad includes a predefined Skylight classification in its default classification system. Classify custom skylights with this classification to correctly isolate them for scheduling. - Element ID
If neither of the above criteria works, consider using the Element ID. Assign unique IDs to skylights, ensuring they differ from windows or other elements.
2. Set up the Schedule's Scheme settings
- Create a new schedule.
- In the Scheme settings, add one or more of the chosen criteria:
- For Element Type, specify Skylight.
- For Classification, set it to Skylight under the Archicad Classification system.
- For Element ID, input the unique IDs assigned to your skylights.
Customize the scheme fields to list details such as size, material, or orientation, depending on project requirements.
3. Verify the Schedule
Check the schedule to ensure all skylights are included and no unrelated elements appear. Adjust criteria or classification settings if necessary.
