Issue description
When starting Archicad, you may receive one of the following messages:
- "License in use on your other device"
- "No license found for Archicad"
This can happen when the cloud license you are trying to access is still active on another computer using your Graphisoft ID, and (1. message) the licence is a named licence assigned to you, or (2. message) when you are part of a group using floating licenses, and no more license is currently available.
Solution
Cloud licenses assigned to your Graphisoft ID can only be active on one device at a time. If the license is currently in use on another computer, you can simply remotely release it and continue working on the current device.
Important: Releasing the license does not delete or modify any project files. You can still save changes and quit the project on the other device after releasing the license.
- When the "License in use" or "No license found for Archicad" dialog appear, click Manage Licenses... or Release License... respectively.
Alternatively, you may also access the license management site here: https://licensemanagement.graphisoft.com/cloud-licenses - On the left navigation menu, click on Cloud licenses to find your assigned license.
-
Click ... > Release from device, then confirm Release license. Or click on Assign license and choose your account.
TIP: Sometimes using the unassign option and reassigning a license to your account helps reset the cloud license.
-
Go back to Archicad and click the Refresh button in order to obtain the license on that device.
If the Refresh button does not appear and you instead see Run in Demo Mode:
-
Click Run in Demo Mode, then verify that you are signed in with the correct Graphisoft ID assigned to the license.
If needed, refer to the following guide for instructions on signing in with your Graphisoft ID:
Sign in with Graphisoft ID - After signing in with the correct Graphisoft ID, restart Archicad so the application can detect and obtain the available license.
