Issue description
Archicad may fail to install, update, or launch correctly due to leftover application files, corrupted components, permission issues, or interference from security software. In these situations, simply reinstalling over an existing installation may not resolve the problem and can result in repeated errors or unstable behavior.
Solution
Perform a clean reinstallation of Archicad using the steps below. This ensures the application and updates are installed from a clean state, with proper permissions and without interference from security software
MacOS:
- Uninstall Archicad
- Download the Archicad installer and the update installer from the Graphisoft website.
- Disable any security software.
- Disconnect from the internet.
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access.
- Double-click the Archicad installer to open it.
- Drag the Archicad icon into the Full Disk Access list.
- Grant Full Disk Access to the installer.
- Run the installer. (See Install Archicad)
- Restart the computer after installation.
- Ensure the installed Archicad has Full Disk Access.
- Repeat steps 5–9 for the update installer.
- After installation, re-enable security software.
Note: You can now reconnect to the internet. - Ensure that Archicad security exceptions are set.
Windows:
- Uninstall Archicad
- Download the Archicad installer and the update installer from the Graphisoft website.
- Disable any security software.
- Disconnect from the internet during installation.
- Right-click the Archicad installer and choose Run as administrator.
- Install Archicad
- Restart the computer.
- Install the update as an administrator with security software still disabled.
- After installation, re-enable security software.
Note: You can now reconnect to the internet. - Ensure that Archicad security exceptions are set.
