Issue description
When attempting to update Archicad using Help → Check for Updates, the download may fail with the following message:
Error code: 60
This typically occurs if a previous update download was interrupted (for example, due to a network issue), leaving an incomplete update file in the temporary update folder.
Solution
Option 1 (Recommended): Download and install the update manually
The quickest way to resolve this issue is to bypass the in-app updater:
- Go to the 'Updates' tab of the Graphisoft Downloads Page
- On the left menu, select your language version, Archicad version, and operating system
- Download the latest update
- Run the installer manually
This avoids the corrupted temporary file entirely and completes the update successfully.
Option 2: Clear the update cache and retry the update
If you prefer to continue using the in-app updater, you will need to remove the incomplete download:
Windows
- Open File Explorer
- Enable Hidden items (View > Show > Hidden items)
- Navigate to:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Graphisoft\ACUpdate\ - Delete all files in this folder
macOS
- Open Finder
- In the top menu, click Go > Go to Folder….
- In the dialog that pops up, type the following:
~/Library/Caches/Graphisoft/ACUpdate/ - Delete all files in this folder
