Issue description
When doors are placed in composite walls, the end lines of one or all skins are interrupted at the door opening. The wall layers appear to stop without showing distinct material boundaries where the opening cuts through the composite wall structure.
Solution
This occurs because the Skin End Lines are turned off in the Composite's settings. By default, these end lines may be disabled, preventing the individual layers from showing their termination lines at door and window openings.
To enable the display of wall end lines for composite structures at door openings:
- Go to Options > Element Attributes > Composites.
- You can also access this by selecting the composite wall element and right-click to access Edit Selected Composite from the context menu.
- Select the composite wall structure you want to modify from the dropdown list.
- In the Edit Skin and Line Structure panel, select each skin layer individually.
- Check the Skin End Lines checkbox for each skin that should display end lines.
Use the pen dropdown next to the checkbox to set the line weight and color for each skin's end lines.
Click OK to apply the changes.
The end line pen number should match the pen used for the inside or outside wall lines, depending on which material has the strongest intersection priority. This ensures visual consistency between the wall edges and the end lines at openings.
Once enabled, the composite wall will display the individual skin end lines at all openings, including doors and windows, showing how each material layer terminates at the opening edge.
