Issue description
You have placed a window between two different composite wall types but the window opening only appears correctly in one wall. The second composite wall shows no opening where the window should be.
Solution
Windows and doors can only be hosted by a single wall element in their default behavior. When you have two separate composite walls positioned next to each other, the window will only create an opening in its host wall.
The Create Opening command allows you to create additional openings in the second wall that align with your window placement. This tool can cut through multiple elements simultaneously and provides precise control over opening placement.
- Select the existing window that is already placed in the first wall.
- Go to Design > Connect > Create Openings from Selection
- Alternatively access this from the context menu by right-clicking the selected window.
- In the Create Openings palette, configure the following settings:
- Set Shape to Automatic to match the window geometry.
- Uncheck Keep Original Elements if you want to remove the window morph after creating openings.
- Enable Merge Nearby Openings to combine openings that are close together.
- Click Create Openings at the bottom of the palette.
This solution maintains the window functionality in the primary wall while creating coordinated openings in adjacent walls.
