Issue description
You see a grey or colored fill appearing in the door threshold area on your floor plan view, and you want the door threshold to be transparent/invisible on your floor plans. A solid pattern beneath the door symbol that cannot be removed using standard fill or layer controls.
Solution
This fill display is associated with the wall cover fill and not the door threshold itself. This can be controlled, however, in the Door Settings panel.
Method 1: Adjusting floor plan pens in the Door's settings.
- Select the door with the threshold fill you want to remove
- Press Ctrl+T (Windows) / Cmd+T (Mac) to open Door Selection Settings
-
Expand the Door Settings and choose the Floor Plan and Section... tab as shown below.
- Disable the Use Fills section. You can also leave it enabled but change the Symbol Fill Background Pen to the transparent option (0).
Method 2: using a Graphic Override rule.
- Go to Document > Graphic Overrides > Graphic Overrides Combination...
- Under Criteria, set the element type to Wall.
- Under the Override Style, set the Fill Type to Air Space, and enable Override Cover Fill types.
- Set the Fill Background Pen to Transparent (0), and enable Override Cover Fill types.
The fill under the door will now appear transparent or invisible in your floor plan view while maintaining the door's structural geometry.
