Description
Before you can use your cloud license, the Administrator or Contract Manager of your Graphisoft ID Company must assign it to your Graphisoft ID account. This method of license assignment is referred to as Named licensing.
Note: An Archicad or BIMcloud SaaS cloud license becomes a floating license when assigned to a group. For further details on floating licensing, please refer to this article: How to assign cloud license to a Group
Solution
Assign the license to a company member
To use a cloud license as a named license, the Administrator or Contract Manager can assign it to a Graphisoft ID account by following these steps:
- Log in to the Graphisoft License Management Portal.
- Go to the Cloud Licenses / View by products or View by members tab, and select the license.
- Click on the "..." icon (three dots) at the end of the line, on the right, and select Change assignee.
- Select a member from your company and press Change.
-
If you have Archicad Collaborate or Standalone BIMcloud SaaS products, and the BIMcloud settings are enabled for your licenses, you are asked to choose the license portability (single-company license as the default or portable license), and then you can validate with Confirm assignment. In any other case, this step doesn't apply.
More details about portability can be found in the article: Portable Cloud Licenses - Overview
Note that this setting can be changed later as well.
- You can see the selected license is now assigned to the company member you selected earlier, on the View by products or on the View by members tab.
Once the cloud license has been assigned to the Graphisoft ID account, it can be activated in Archicad by simply logging in with that same Graphisoft ID.
Release the license or assign it to another user
- In the License Manager portal, navigate to Cloud licenses: https://licensemanagement.graphisoft.com/cloud-licenses
- You can unassign/reassign from different places:
- View by product tab: click the three dots at the end of the row on the right and select Change Assignee. Set the assignee to Unassigned.
- View by member tab: click the bullet point to expand and see the product assigned to the member. Click the three dots at the end of the row on the right and select Change Assignee. Set the assignee to Unassigned.
- From the License Details, click Change Assignee.
-
Confirm with Next.
