License

1. What type of license can be portable if I activate the portable licensing function in the Company Management portal?
   • Currently, the Archicad and DDScad Collaborate commercial license packages can be used as portable licenses.
   • If a padlock (open or closed) is displayed next to the license name in the license management portal, this means that the portability of the license can be configured. If no padlock is displayed, the license doesn't support the portable licensing feature.
2. Is it possible to assign a license directly to a guest member in the Host Company?
   • No, a guest member cannot use a license from the Host Company. They can only use the portable licenses they have access to in their Home Company.
3. Is it possible to add guest members to groups to use the floating licenses of the Host Company?
   • No, a guest member cannot be added to groups and cannot use a license from the Host Company. They can only use the portable licenses they have access to in their Home Company.
4. What happens if the Administrator or Contract Manager of the Home Company turns off the portable licensing feature?
   • The users who have a guest membership in the Host Companies will not be able to work in the BIMcloud SaaS tenants owned by these companies as the licenses will not be available.
   • The user's guest membership remains active in the Host Companies.
5. What happens if the Administrator or Contract Manager of the Home Company revokes the named portable license from the user who has guest memberships in other Host Companies?
   • If the user doesn’t have any other portable license available, they will not be able to work with any Host Company BIMcloud tenants.
     Note: If the revocation occurs while the user is using the application, the license will no longer work at the next online validation (within 30 minutes).
6. What happens if a user is removed from a user group of the Home Company from where they had a floating portable license?
   • If the user doesn’t have any other portable license available, they will not be able to work with any Host Company BIMcloud tenants.
     Note: If the removal occurs while the user is using the application, the license will no longer work at the next online validation (within 10 minutes).
7. Is it possible to assign the portable license of a guest member to another member (regular or guest) in the Host Company?
   • No, the portable license can only be used by the user to whom it was assigned in the Home Company.
8. If a user is invited as a guest to another Host Company, can they open projects simultaneously from both their and the Host Company's BIMcloud SaaS?
   • No. A portable license can be used only on one BIMcloud SaaS at a time. Working on multiple BIMclouds simultaneously requires multiple licenses.
   • When a user goes offline (by closing all projects) in one BIMcloud, the license is released and becomes available for use on another BIMcloud.
9. Is it possible to restrict the use of the portable license?

   • The Administrator or Contract Manager of the Home Company cannot restrict the acceptance of invitations to guest membership of members of the Home Company: if the member has a portable license, they can use it in any Host Company without any restriction.

10. Can the guest user use the portable license on a BIMcloud tenant or the tenants that have purchased one of the legacy webshops (Work From Home, Store, USA, UKI, ITA)?
    • No! The portable licensing which is based on the cloud license can only be used on the tenants purchased through the new global store.

Membership

1. Can I convert a guest member into a regular member?

   • No. A user can only have a regular membership in a single company. The user can only have a regular membership in your company if they leave their Home Company and you invite them back to your company as a regular member.

   • The Administrator or Contract manager of the Home Company cannot restrict the acceptance of invitations to guest membership of the Home Company members.

2. Can a user account be invited to more than one Host Company?
   • Yes. A user can be invited as a guest to multiple Host Companies.
   • A single portable license can be used on BIMcloud SaaS of different Host Companies but can be active only on one at a time. When a user goes offline (by closing all projects) in one BIMcloud, the license is released and becomes available for use on another BIMcloud.
3. Can the Administrator or the Contract Manager have guest membership in other companies?

   • Yes, the role that is assigned to the user profile in the Home Company does not limit the guest invitations.

4. Can the guest user have the role of Administrator or Contract Manager in the Host Company?

   • No! Guest members cannot be appointed to these roles. To grant the user such rights, they must first leave their Home Company and be invited to the Host Company.

5. Can a user be invited as a guest member to my company if license portability is not enabled in their Home Company?
   • Yes. You can prepare the workspace for your subcontractors, while the Administrator or the Contract Manager of the Home Company decides on the license allocation to their employee.
     Note: Your BIMcloud synchronizes all (regular and guest) members of your company so that you can start granting them access rights.
6. What happens if a user who has a guest membership in Host Companies is removed from or leaves their Home Company?

   • The user loses their guest membership in all Home and Host Companies and the licenses assigned directly (named license) or indirectly (floating license) to their profile.

   • The user will be automatically removed from all Home and Host Companies' BIMcloud user list the next time the BIMcloud user data is synchronized.

7. What happens if a user who has a guest membership is removed from or leaves a Host Company?

   • The user loses their guest membership only in that Host Company but keeps their membership in other companies and keeps the licenses assigned directly (named license) or indirectly (floating license) to their profile.

   • The user will be automatically removed only from that Host Company’s BIMcloud user list the next time the BIMcloud user data is synchronized.
