Issue description
You have assigned different materials to various door components (such as the door leaf, frame, and glass) in the door settings, but the door still displays a uniform surface material in 3D.
Graphic overrides are disabled and model view options are set to detailed, yet the door does not show the expected surface variations.
Solution
The issue is caused by the Material Override setting being activated in the Model panel of the Door settings. This panel is hidden by default in the current Work Environment settings but contains a critical surface override function that forces all door components to use a single material.
- Go to Options > Work Environment > Tool Settings Dialog Boxes
- Select Door Tool from the list on the left
- In the right panel, locate the Model entry and click the eye icon to make it visible
- Click OK to save the changes
(Tip: If you want to save it in your current work environment, make sure to redefine the current Tool Schemes attached in the active work environment) - Select the affected door and open Door settings
- Navigate to the newly visible Model panel
- Under Override Surfaces, locate the toggle button for surface overrides
- Click the toggle button to turn off the surface override function
- Click OK to apply the changes
The Model panel contains the Override Surfaces functionality that allows you to assign a single surface to the entire door element.
After making these changes, your door will properly display the individual materials assigned to each component, providing the realistic material representation you expect in both 3D views and rendered outputs.
