Issue Description
You notice that stairs in your project display break marks with different angles even though they have similar settings. Or break mark orientation appears inconsistent between multiple staircases on the same floor plan.
Solution
Different break mark angles on stairs occur because each stair has individual Break Mark Distance and Angle settings that can vary independently. By default, the break mark angle is calculated automatically, but this can result in inconsistent orientations between different stairs.
The solution involves adjusting the break mark angle settings in the Stair Settings to ensure consistent orientation across all stairs.
Method 1: Adjusting Break mark Angle in Stair Settings
- Select the stair with the incorrect break mark angle.
- Open Stair Settings by double-clicking the stair or right-clicking and choosing Stair Selection Settings.
- Navigate to Floor Plan Display in the left panel.
- Click on Break Mark in the component tree.
- In the Break Mark Distance and Angle section, locate Angle to Vertical.
- Enter a specific angle value.
- Apply the same angle value to all other stairs in your project for consistency.
- Click OK to apply the changes
Method 2: Graphical Adjustment in Edit Mode
- Select the stair you want to modify.
- Click the Edit button to enter Edit Mode.
- Click on the Symbol option in the Edit Mode menu panel.
- Select the break mark symbol directly in the plan view.
- Drag the break mark by its nodes to adjust both position and angle graphically.
- Exit Edit Mode when the break mark orientation is correct.
The break mark can be set to span a specific number of goings or maintain a particular relationship to vertical or horizontal orientation. You can also apply extensions to the break mark lines and customize the break mark attributes including the width of decorative elements like zigzag patterns.
For more detailed stair display options, you can also access the complete Floor Plan Display settings in the Stair Settings dialog.
