Issue description
Windows positioned above the cutting plane line are still visible in the floor plan view, especially in cases where two windows are stacked vertically at different heights. This can make the drawing appear cluttered or confusing,
Solution
Change the Floor Plan Display settings from Symbolic to Projected for your windows.
- Select the window(s) that you want to hide above the cutting plane.
- Open the Settings dialog box for the selected window(s).
- Navigate to the Floor Plan and Section panel.
- Under Floor Plan Display, change the setting from Symbolic to Projected.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
Understanding the Floor Plan Display Options
The Floor Plan Display control in Door/Window Settings defines how openings are displayed:
- Symbolic (default setting): Shows the object's standard symbol, which is defined independently of the element's 3D model appearance. Windows will always be visible regardless of their position relative to the cutting plane.
- Projected: Shows only the cut part of the element's 3D model, plus its uncut (downward) part. Windows positioned above the cutting plane will not be visible in the floor plan view.
- Projected with Overhead: Shows the cut part of the element's 3D model, plus the element's overhead part (the part above the Floor Plan Cut Plane), plus its uncut (downward) part.
- Overhead All: Shows the entire element's outline with its overhead attributes.
When you want to hide windows that are above the cutting plane, changing from Symbolic to Projected will make them invisible in the floor plan view, as only elements intersecting with the cut plane will be displayed.
