Issue Description
You modeled a staircase in the Floor Plan view, but it is not visible in 3D. There are no active 3D Cutaways, so what could be causing this issue?
Solution
By default, a Stair in Archicad consists of different components—Structure and Finish. If both the Structure and Finish options are unchecked, the Stair will not be visible in 3D, even though it exists in the model.
- In the Floor Plan view, select the Stairs then go to Stairs Selection Settings.
-
In the Structure tab, check the Structure option.
-
In the Finish tab, enable the Finish option. Click OK to to confirm.
Other Things to Look Out For
In most cases, missing Stairs in 3D are due to unchecked Structure and Finish settings. However, if the issue persists, checking layer visibility, Model View Options, Graphic Overrides, and Design Options can help rule out other display-related causes.
- Layer Visibility: Ensure the Stair is assigned to a visible layer. If the layer is hidden, the Stair won’t appear in 3D.
- Model View Options (MVO): Some settings may simplify or hide Stair components. Check if an active MVO is affecting visibility.
- Graphic Overrides: Certain overrides can make elements appear transparent or hidden. Temporarily disable active overrides to check.
- Design Options: Make sure that the current design option used in the 3D includes the stairs.
