Issue Description
Some or all Grid Elements are missing in Elevation/Section Views. Why does this happen?
Solution
You might want to watch out for the following settings:
1. Layer combination – visibility
Set a Layer Combination for Sections and Elevations where the Grid's layer Status is set to Show. Apply this layer combination consistently in your views.
TIP: Grid Elements are placed in the Structural - Grid layer by default when using the Archicad Project Template.
2. Section/Elevation Settings
To activate Grid Elements in Sections and Elevations.
1. Go to View map > Right click on your Section/Elevation > Section/Elevation Settings.
2. Under Grid Tool > Check Show Grid Elements.
3. Grid Settings - Marker Elevation
If your Grid is still not visible, your Grid Element Markers for Section and Elevation Views might be inactive, or with a heavily displaced elevation.
1. Select your Grid and open Grid Marker Selection Settings.
2. Expand the Section/Elevation Tab.
3. Check the Grid Markers you want to show in your drawings (top and/or bottom) to activate them.
If your Grid Markers are still not visible and your Project Location Settings have a defined Altitude, the Grid Elements might be present in the Section or Elevation but displaced upwards or downwards. It is possible to adjust these heights according to the Project Zero, Project Altitude, Reference Levels, etc.
4. Perpendicularity of Grid Elements
In Elevation/Section Settings > Grid Section, there is an option that when unchecked, causes Archicad to limit the visible Grid Markers to those which are perpendicular to the Section/Elevation Marker.
This means that in the case of irregular grids, several Grid Elements might be missing.
- One option is to change your section cuts to be perpendicular to most Grid Lines you would like to show.
OR
- Check the option Show non-perpendicular Grid Elements to activate it.
5. Design Options: Grid elements may belong to a different Design Option that is not currently visible. Review the Design Options to ensure the correct one is active.
6. Renovation Filter: The grid element might at Renovation Status, which is hidden by the current Renovation Filter. Make sure the Renovation Filter settings are configured to display all relevant elements
