Issue Description
You have Archicad installed in one language but need to use the program in a different language within the program settings.
Solution
The language is deeply embedded in Archicad's program structure and cannot be changed through any settings or preferences within the application. Each language version of Archicad requires a separate installation process, and your license compatibility determines which language versions you can actually run.
Check Your Current Language Version
1. Open Archicad.
2. Navigate to Help About Archicad.
3. Note the language code displayed in the top left of the dialog box.
Verify License Compatibility
1. Commercial licenses are typically locked to specific regional languages.
2. Some licenses support the International (INT) version alongside their regional version.
3. Educational licenses may have broader language access depending on your region.
4. Key-based licenses generally offer more flexibility than cloud-based licenses.
Download and Install Different Language Version
1. Visit the official Graphisoft downloads page at https://graphisoft.com/downloads/.
2. Select your desired language version from the available options.
3. Download the complete installer for your target language.
4. Install the new language version using one of these methods: Install to a different folder by specifying a custom installation path during setup or rename your existing Archicad folder before installing the new version.
5. Launch the new language version to test license compatibility.
Important Considerations for Multiple Language Installations
- Install each language version in separate folders to avoid conflicts.
- Create custom Work Environments for each language version rather than importing between them.
- Remember that Goodies and library components are language-specific and require separate downloads.
- For educational users, the language version is connected to the country of residence you choose when creating your Graphisoft ID. For example, suppose you live in Luxembourg, which has more than one official language. In that case, you will get access to the options of Deutschland, French, and the International (English) versions, and each version will have its serial number.
