Issue description
Security software may block Archicad, BIMcloud, or the License Manager Tool from working correctly. To avoid this, you may need to add Archicad’s folders, the BIMcloud server address, and the required License Manager Tool service connections to your security software’s exceptions.
Solution
1. Add exceptions to your anti-virus or security software
Close all open Archicad projects, and exit out of Archicad or any other Graphisoft product you are using.
In your security software, add the required folders to the Exclusions or Trusted Zone section.
The following folders are required by Archicad and must be added as exclusions in your antivirus or security software:
a. Required exclusions on Windows
Archicad:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD {version}\
C:\Users\{username}\Graphisoft\
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Graphisoft\
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Graphisoft\
C:\ProgramData\Install.GS\CodeMeter driver:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeMeter
C:\Program Files\CodeMeterLicense Manager Tool:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\License Manager Tool
Example application paths:
- Archicad:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD {version}\ARCHICAD.exeC:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD {version}\ARCHICAD Starter.exeC:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD {version}\curl.exeC:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD {version}\Cineware\Cineware.exe - CodeMeter:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin\CodeMeter.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin\CodeMeterCC.exeC:\Program Files\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin\CmWebAdmin.exe - License Manager Tool:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\License Manager Tool\GRAPHISOFT License Manager Tool.exeC:\Program Files\Graphisoft\License Manager Tool\curl.exe
b. Required exclusions on macOS
Archicad:
~/Applications/GRAPHISOFT
~/Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/GRAPHISOFT
~/Users/{username}/Library/Caches/Graphisoft
~/Users/{username}/Library/Preferences/GRAPHISOFTAccessing the Library folder on macOS
CodeMeter:
~/Applications/CodeMeterLicense Manager Tool:
~/Applications/GRAPHISOFT/License Manager Tool
Example application paths:
- Archicad:
~/Applications/GRAPHISOFT/{Archicad Version}/{Archicad Version}.app~/Applications/GRAPHISOFT/{Archicad Version}/Cineware/Cineware.app
2. Add web protection exceptions for BIMcloud Basic
Example web protection exception for a BIMcloud (Basic) address:
http://servername.domain.comhttp://192.168.*.*
Notes:
The address alone is enough — you do not need to add a port number (for example:
http://servername.domain.com).By default, BIMcloud uses HTTP, not HTTPS, after installation. This may cause antivirus tools to flag the connection as insecure.
To prevent antivirus software from blocking BIMcloud traffic on the client side, add the BIMcloud address as an exception in the web protection settings.
Some security features (such as HTTPS scanning) may still block Archicad’s access to web-based services.
After adding the exceptions, restart Archicad or any other Graphisoft product you are using.
3. License Manager Tool service connections
The License Manager Tool needs specific network service connections to work correctly. Make sure these connections are allowed in your firewall, security software, and network settings.
You can find the full list of required connections in the Service Connections section of the License Manager Tool system requirements.
