Issue description
Archicad crashes during certain operations such as:
- Updating a Layout
- Activating Trace Reference
- Selecting an element
- Placing a Drawing on a Layout
- Quitting Archicad
- Opening a Section
Troubleshooting
This problem is often caused by missing View Settings. Follow the steps below to identify and correct missing settings.
1. Repair the file
Open the file with the repair option: Open and repair project file
If the file no longer crashes after the repair, further steps should be taken to fully resolve the missing View Settings.
2. Check View settings
Right-click the View in the Navigator > View Settings...
Check the View Settings of all Views in the project.
If, under General in View Settings, the entry Missing (…) is displayed, replace it with an existing setting. This applies in particular to the View Settings of Worksheets and Details.
Tip: An overview list of the views in the project and their settings, makes it easier to find missing entries. The following options are available in the Archicad template:
- Go to Documentation > Project Indexes > 01 Views
- Alternatively: Create a custom list for the project contents of the Views
Check and correct all entries in the list that are shown as - - - or Missing (...).
Note: Missing View Settings are not replaced by the Open and repair function and must be adjusted manually.
