Issue Description
During installation of Archicad you might get: "Error. Archicad installer detected that the operating system on this computer is out-of-date."
Much of the time this is because "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable" is installed on the computer and it conflicts with the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable Archicad tries to install.
Solution
Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable; run the Archicad installer and any
updates.
- Visit the Control Panel on your computer.
- Choose either “Uninstall a program” or “Programs and Features”, depending upon your view
- Look for “Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable” and to begin the uninstallation, either double-click it or single click it and then choose Uninstall.
- Follow the prompts given to uninstall it.
- Now run the Archicad installer and it should proceed as normal.
Restoring Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 redistributable
The 2015-2019 module was likely put there by some other software package. Much of the time it is fine to leave it uninstalled and it will get re-installed by some other application if needed. But if you don’t wish to leave anything to chance, you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable manually.
