macOS – How to access “Macintosh HD”

Issue description

This article explains how to access the root directory of your Mac, known as ‘Macintosh HD'.

Solution

1. Bring up Finder and click on Go at the top menu bar.
2. Then select Computer from the drop-down menu.
   
   
    
3. After that, open Macintosh HD from Finder.
   
   
    
4. You are now inside the root directory of your Mac.
