Issue description
After uploading a library using the web-based BIMcloud Manager, the library does not appear as an available BIMcloud Library when you try to add it to a project via the Library Manager. The Choose BIMcloud Libraries dialog either shows no new library or lists only unrecognizable file entries that cannot be added to the project.
Solution
The library was uploaded through the browser-based BIMcloud Manager (Projects page), which places files directly into the BIMcloud file system as raw files or folders. This method does not register the library as a recognized BIMcloud Library that Archicad can add to a project. To make a library available for use in Archicad projects, it must be uploaded through the Manage BIMcloud Libraries dialog inside Archicad.
Note: Uploaded libraries must be .pla, .lcf, .libpack files, or regular folders. Individual .gsm files cannot be uploaded directly.
Step 1 - Upload the library to BIMcloud
Remove any files incorrectly placed via the browser, then re-upload the library using the correct workflow below.
In Archicad, go to File > Libraries and Objects > Manage BIMcloud Libraries.
Alternatively, open Library Manager (File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager) and click the Manage BIMcloud Libraries icon.- At the top of the dialog, select your BIMcloud from the server pop-up and log in if prompted.
Click Upload.
- Browse for the library you want to upload. Select a .pla, .lcf, or .libpack file, or a regular folder containing library parts. Click Open.
- Confirm the Host Server shown in the dialog. To upload to a different server, use the server pop-up.
- Click Upload to complete the process. The library will appear in the list once uploaded.
Add the BIMcloud library to the project
Once uploaded, the library must be added to each project that needs it:
Important: You must reserve the Library Manager before you can add or remove libraries. Required permission: Libraries – Add/Remove.
- Open Library Manager via File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager.
- On the Libraries in Project tab, click the arrow next to the Add button and select Add BIMcloud Library.
- In the Choose BIMcloud Libraries dialog, select the newly uploaded library and click Add.
- Click OK in Library Manager to reload project libraries and close the dialog.
