Issue description
When attempting to save a door leaf in the door settings dialog, the Save as Custom Door Leaf option does not appear in the dropdown menu. The custom door leaf selection list appears empty or the save option is completely missing from File > Libraries and Objects > Save Selection as.
Solution
The missing Save as Custom Door Leaf option occurs because the default library containing the required macros is not loaded. Loading the default library will restore the button and enable you to save custom door leafs. For Archicad 28 and higher versions, the Essental Library.libpack is needed to be loaded in the project in order for it to be available.
Load the library
- Go to File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager
- Click Add at the bottom of the dialog box
- Navigate to your installation directory:
- For Windows:
C:\Program Files\GRAPHISOFT\ARCHICAD 29\Archicad Library Packages - For Mac:
Applications/GRAPHISOFT/ARCHICAD 29/Archicad Library Packages
- For Windows:
-
Select the Essential Library.libpack and load them.
Note: Load each library package individually rather than loading the entire LibPacks folder
- Click Reload & Apply to confirm the changes
The Save as Custom Door Leaf option will now appear in the dropdown menu.
Additional considerations
- Library warnings: Check the Library Manager for warnings about missing or duplicate library parts. Resolve these warnings as they may interfere with custom component functionality.
- Teamwork projects: In Teamwork projects, you must reserve the BIMcloud Library folder before saving custom door leafs to it.
- Version compatibility: For Archicad 27 and earlier version, you need to load a Standard Monolith Library.
