Issue description
The AI Assistant feature appears unavailable or inactive in your Archicad 29 interface, even though it is documented in the latest version. The AI Assistant chatbot does not appear in the bottom-right corner of the window, and accessing it through the Help menu produces no visible interface.
Solution
The AI Assistant in Archicad 29 is a cloud-based service and is only available with cloud subscription licenses linked to a Graphisoft ID. If you are using a perpetual (protection key-based) license, the AI Assistant feature will not be available, regardless of your Archicad version.
License types and AI Assistant availability
AI Assistant is available with the following subscription licenses:
Archicad Collaborate
Archicad Studio
Archicad Solo
Educational (EDU) licenses
AI Assistant not available with:
Perpetual licenses using hardware keys, software keys, or NET keys
Verify your license type
- Open Archicad 29.
- Navigate to Help > License Information...
- Check the license information displayed. Look for terms such as Subscription License, Cloud License, or Perpetual License.
- If your license displays perpetual, protection key, software key, hardware key, net key, or CodeMeter, this confirms the AI Assistant is not available for your license type.
Converting to a subscription license
If you currently hold a perpetual license and wish to access the AI Assistant and other subscription-exclusive features, you have the option to convert to a subscription plan. Graphisoft offers conversion programs for perpetual license holders with special pricing options.
- Visit the Graphisoft website at www.graphisoft.com or contact your local Graphisoft Sales Partner.
- Inquire about conversion programs available for your perpetual license.
- Compare subscription plans: Archicad Collaborate (team collaboration), Archicad Studio (individual/small firms), or Archicad Solo.
- Complete the subscription process to gain immediate access to the AI Assistant and other cloud-based features.
Note: The AI Assistant is currently in beta (BETA) and marked as such in Archicad 29. A full commercial release is expected in 2026. The feature is continuously evolving with additional capabilities planned.
