Issue description
When modeling stairs with landings connected to floor slabs above, you see an unwanted line in the 2D floor plan view where the stair structure intersects with the slab.
Solution
The extra line you see represents the Structure - Monolithic component of the stair symbol displaying in the floor plan view. This line is controlled by the Model View Options settings rather than the individual stair floor plan display settings.
To remove this unwanted line:
- Navigate to Document > Model View > Model View Options.
- In the Model View Options dialog, locate the Stair Options panel.
- Under the Show/Hide Stair Symbol Components section, find the checkbox for Structure - Monolithic.
- Uncheck the Structure - Monolithic checkbox to hide this component from the floor plan display.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
The Model View Options settings control the display of stair components at a project level and will affect all stairs in your current model view. This approach is more efficient than adjusting individual stair settings when you want to hide structural lines consistently across your project.
Additional information:
The Structure - Monolithic component represents the continuous structural element of the stair in 2D floor plan views. When stairs intersect with slabs or other structural elements, this component may display intersection lines that are not needed for architectural drawings but are technically accurate representations of the 3D model geometry.
