Issue description
When you hold the middle mouse button to pan in 2D views, you notice that fills and dimension texts temporarily disappear during the panning operation. These elements reappear once you release the middle mouse button.
Solution
The fills and dimension texts disappear because the Model Display in the 2D Navigation setting is configured to Simplified Model to optimize performance during navigation operations. This setting temporarily hides complex elements, including fills and dimension texts, to improve panning performance.
To change this setting:
- Go to Options > Work Environment > Advanced Redraw Options.
- Next to Model Display in 2D Navigation click on the drop-down menu to view three available options:
- Simplified Model: shows the full model in a simplified version (fills and dimension texts are temporarily hidden).
- Structural Contours Only: shows only construction element outlines during panning.
- Full Model: displays all elements in full detail during panning.
- Select Full Model to maintain fill and dimension text visibility during panning operations.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
TIP: The setting you choose depends on your project complexity and performance requirements, smaller projects can comfortably use Full Model without performance issues.
The Simplified model display during panning is designed to improve performance especially in large complex models. When you finish the panning operation all elements including fills and dimension texts are fully displayed again.
