Issue description
After migrating your work environment, or template, from Archicad 26 or earlier to Archicad 27 or a later version, the Design Options palette and Design Options Manager are missing from the Document menu or Window > Palettes menu.
Solution
Design Options were introduced as a new feature in Archicad 27. When you migrate a custom work environment from an earlier version, the new Design Options commands are not automatically included because your custom work environment does not contain these new commands.
- Go to Options > Work Environment > Menus
- In the left panel, change the dropdown to 'All commands by theme' or 'All commands in alphabetical order'
- In the search field, type 'Design Options'.
- You will see the available Design Options commands:
- Design Options (palette)
- Design Options Manager
-
Design Options Combination List
- From the right panel, select the Document menu to add the Design Options submenu
- Click on >>Add selected>> to add the Design Options submenu from the left panel to the right panel under the Document menu
- To add the palette to the Window menu, select Window Palettes from the right panel and repeat the previous step.
- Once added, make sure to save it in the Command Layout Schemes by redefining the Scheme Options.
The Design Options feature allows you to efficiently create and manage multiple design alternatives, replacing the need to use renovation filters or layer combinations to display design variations. Read more about this freature here.
