Accessories Library compatibility with Monolith Libraries in Archicad 28 and later

Issue description

If you're using Archicad 28 with the traditional Monolith Library, installing the Archicad 28 Goodies Package and loading the Accessories Library.libpack may trigger a warning stating that the Essential Library.libpack dependency is missing.

This occurs because the Accessories Library.libpack is part of the Global Library, which is incompatible with Monolith Libraries.

Note: If you're using Archicad 28 with the new Global Library, follow this guide instead.

Solution

After installing the Archicad 28 Goodies add-on, do not load the Accessories Library.libpack. Instead, use the Accessories Library from Archicad 27, which is compatible with Monolith Libraries. To load the library follow these steps:

1. Open Library Manager (File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager...).
2. Click Add...
3. Load the Accessories Library 27 folder following one of the sections below that apply to your situation:

a. If Archicad 27 is already installed on your computer

You can find and link to the library from the following location:

• Windows: C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\Archicad 27\Accessories Library 27 
• macOS: /Applications/Graphisoft/Archicad 27/Accessories Library 27

Tip: If you uninstall Archicad 27 later, the library will be removed and become unavailable to your Archicad 28 project. Consider duplicating the "Accessories Library 27" to a safe location outside of the Archicad 27 installation directory.

b. If Archicad 27 is not installed

1. Temporarily install Archicad 27.
2. Install the Goodies add-on for Archicad 27.
3. Locate the Accessories Library 27 folder and copy it to a safe location (outside the Archicad 27 installation directory).
4. Load the copied folder into your Archicad 28 project.

TIP: Do not load the library directly from the Archicad 27 installation folder. If you uninstall Archicad 27 later, the library will be deleted and become unavailable to your project.

Why this works

The .libpack format introduced in Archicad 28 supports the Global Library and is not backward compatible with Monolith Libraries. Using the Accessories Library from Archicad 27 restores compatibility and enables Accessories functionality in projects that rely on Monolith Libraries.
