Accessories Library Compatibility with Monolith Libraries in Archicad 28

Issue Description

If you're using Archicad 28 with the traditional Monolith Library (instead of the new Global Library system), after installing the Archicad 28 Goodies Package and loading the Accessories Library.libpack, you may encounter a warning stating that the Essential Library.libpack dependency is missing.

This occurs because the Accessories Library.libpack installed with the Archicad 28 Goodies is not compatible with Monolith Libraries.

Solution

After installing the Archicad 28 Goodies add-on, do not load the Accessories Library.libpack. Instead, use the Accessories Library from Archicad 27, which is compatible with Monolith Libraries.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Library Manager (File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager...)
2. Click Add...
3. Load the Accessories Library 27 folder:
   1. If Archicad 27 is still installed:
      • Navigate to:
        • Windows: C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\Archicad 27\Accessories Library 27
        • macOS: /Applications/Graphisoft/Archicad 27/Accessories Library 27

      • Select and load this folder.

        Important: If you uninstall Archicad 27 later, the library will be deleted and become unavailable to your Archicad 28 project. Consider duplicating the "Accessories Library 27" to a safe location (outside of the Archicad 27 installation directory).

   2. If Archicad 27 is not installed:
      • Temporarily install Archicad 27
      • Install the Goodies add-on for Archicad 27
      • Locate the Accessories Library 27 folder and store a copy in a safe location (outside the Archicad 27 installation directory).
      • Load the folder from this safe location into your Archicad 28 project.
      • Important: Do not load the library directly from the Archicad 27 folder. If you uninstall Archicad 27 later, the library will be deleted and become unavailable to your project.

Why This Works

The .libpack format introduced in Archicad 28 supports the Global Library system and is not backward-compatible with Monolith Libraries. Loading the Accessories Library from Archicad 27 restores compatibility and enables Accessories functionality in projects using Monolith Libraries.
