Issue Description
You have desktop installed on your Mac and it displays in a different language than your preferred language. The application interface appears in the system language instead of your desired language and you need to change it to your preferred language for better usability.
Solution
macOS manages application languages through the system language preferences rather than individual application settings1. This means desktop inherits its language setting from the macOS System Settings.
To change the language for desktop specifically, follow these steps:
- Click the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen
- Select System Settings from the dropdown menu
- Click General in the left sidebar
- Select Language & Region from the General options
- Scroll down to the Applications section
- Click the + (plus) button to add a new application-specific language setting
- Choose BIMx from the application dropdown menu
- Select your preferred Language from the language dropdown menu
- Click Add to save the setting
- Quit and relaunch desktop for the language change to take effect
The application will now display in your selected language instead of the default system language123. This method allows you to customize the language for desktop while keeping your system in a different language if desired.
