Issue description
Light objects in ceiling plan views display their illumination range as visible circular or geometric patterns around the lamp symbol. These illumination ranges create visual clutter and overlap with other elements or structural elements.
Solution
The illumination range display can be controlled individually in the Lamp Selection Settings. You can disable this feature under the Floor Plan Representation tab. Uncheck the Show Illumination in 2D section.
By default, lighting objects use the Realistic display mode which shows the illumination range. Changing this setting to Reflected Ceiling Plan mode hides the illumination range while maintaining the lamp symbol visibility.
- Go to Document > Model View > Model View Options.
- Navigate to the Miscellaneous Settings for Library Parts panel.
- Locate the Lighting and HVAC Plan Symbols section.
- Change the setting from Realistic to Reflected Ceiling Plan.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
Alternative method using saved Model View Options
If you frequently switch between different ceiling plan displays, you can create dedicated Model View Options combination:
- Set up your preferred Lighting and HVAC Plan Symbols configuration as described above.
- Click Store As in the Model View Options dialog.
- Create a custom name such as Ceiling Plan - Clean.
- Use the Quick Options palette or Document > Set Model View menu to quickly switch between different configurations.
