Issue Description
When viewing a foundation floor plan, isolated footings do not appear in the drawing despite being modeled correctly. Only the columns and tie beams are visible on the floor plan, creating an incomplete foundation representation.
Solution
This issue occurs because the Floor Plan Cut Plane is set too high relative to the footing elements, which are typically positioned below the current story level. The Floor Plan Cut Plane determines which elements are visible by cutting through the model at a specified height, and footings positioned below this cutting plane will not display in the floor plan view.
Adjust the Floor Plan Cut Plane Settings
- Navigate to Document > Floor Plan Cut Plane to open the Floor Plan Cut Plane Settings dialog box.
- Set the Relative Floor Plan Range to show elements from stories below:
- In the Show down to field, enter "1" to display elements one story below
- Select Story(s) below from the dropdown menu
- Click OK to apply the settings and view the updated floor plan display.
- After adjusting the Floor Plan Cut Plane settings, right click on the affected view in the View Map and select Redefine View with current Settings.
The Floor Plan Cut Plane settings are global and apply to all stories in the project, but can be customized for individual views when saved properly.
