Issue description
When you export an elevation view as DWG, you notice that shadows are displayed as fills in the output file. In the elevation window, shadows appear over surfaces and elements, even if you do not want them included in your documentation or DWG export.
Solution
This behavior is caused by the Shadow setting being enabled in the elevation’s Model Appearance settings, which results in fills being generated during DWG export. You can disable shadows for any elevation by editing its settings.
- Select the elevation marker on the floor plan or find the affected elevation in the View Map.
- Open the elevation settings dialog using one of these methods:
- Right-click the elevation marker and choose Elevation Settings, or
- Select the marker and click the Settings button in the Info Box.
- Right click on the elevation in the View map and select Elevation Settings.
- Right-click the elevation marker and choose Elevation Settings, or
- In the Elevation Settings dialog, expand the Model Appearance panel.
- Scroll down to find the Shadow option near the bottom of the panel.
-
Uncheck the Shadow box to disable shadows in this elevation view.
- Click OK to apply the changes and close the dialog.
After completing these steps, shadows will no longer be displayed in the elevation view, and they will not be converted to fills during DWG export.
