Issue Description
Opening lines for windows and doors appear as solid lines, by default, in elevation views but you want them displayed as dashed lines, and their appearance maintain the same line type regardless of your preference for dashed representation in elevations.
Solution
The opening line display is controlled through Model View Options rather than individual object settings. In recent versions, these settings are centralized for consistent control across all windows and doors in your project.
- Navigate to Document > Model View > Model View Options
- Select the appropriate Model View Option combination used by your elevation view
- Expand the Detail Level of Door, Window and Skylight Symbols section
- Locate Opening Line (Section/Elevation & 3D) settings
- Change the line type from solid to your preferred dashed line type
- Click OK to apply the changes
The Model View Options provide separate controls for different view types, allowing you to maintain solid opening lines in floor plans while displaying dashed lines in sections and elevations.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Opening Lines Not Changing: Verify that your elevation view is using the correct Model View Option combination. Changes only affect views using the modified combination.
- Version-Specific Considerations: In Archicad 28, all control is centralized in Model View Options. For older versions, ensure Use MVO Settings is enabled in object settings.
