Issue description
When using dimensions with an opaque text background, the dimension line appears in front of the text background, crossing through the text box, which reduces readability and creates an undesirable appearance.
Solution
This can be fixed by changing the display order settings, that control which elements appear in front of others. By default, dimension lines may appear on top of the text background, but you can adjust the display order to fix this issue.
- Select the dimension line (not just the text) by clicking on the dimension line itself.
- Open the Dimension Selection Settings (by right clicking or Ctrl/Cmd +T).
- Expand the Text Style tab.
- Look for the Display Order setting, and change choose the option to place the text over the line. This will ensure the text background appears on top of the dimension line.
- Click OK or apply the changes.
- The dimension text with its background will now appear in front of the dimension line, making it more readable.
For multiple dimensions with the same issue, you can:
- Select all affected dimensions at once. (TIP: Use the Find and Select function)
- Adjust the Display Order setting for all selected dimensions simultaneously.
- Apply the changes to update all dimensions at once.
