Issue description
When opening your BIMx model, the layer visibility controls are not available in the interface. You cannot access the layer management functionality that would allow you to show or hide specific layers in the 3D model. The layer visibility option is completely missing from the menu system.
Solution
Layer visibility control in BIMx is only available for models published from Archicad 28 or newer versions. This feature was introduced as part of the October 2024 update, initially for iOS devices and later on Android app.
- Verify which version of Archicad was used to publish your BIMx model.
- If your model was published from Archicad 27 or earlier, the layer visibility controls will not be available regardless of which device you use to view the model.
- Open your project in Archicad 28 or newer.
- Set up your desired layers and layer combinations in the Layer Manager.
- Navigate to File > Save as BIMx Hyper-model.
- Complete the export process using the standard BIMx export settings.
- The newly exported model will now support layer visibility controls when viewed in BIMx.
- Open your Archicad 28-published BIMx model.
- Tap on the Layers icon in the interface to open the layer management palette.
- Use the eye icon to hide or unhide layers and layer folders.
- Tap on the layer name to activate the blue element highlight on all the layer's elements.
- Sign in to your BIMx app using your Graphisoft ID.
- Ensure your company has a valid service or product subscription that includes BIMx Pro features.
- Layer visibility control is only accessible to Pro users with proper licensing.
- Create multiple filtered views using the same 3D model by hiding specific layers.
- Detect documentation or modeling issues using the project's layer system.
- Create BCF-based issues and send them directly to Archicad's Issue Organizer.
- Use folders to hide multiple layers with a single tap for more efficient navigation.
