Issue Identification
After switching to the Global Library in Archicad 28 or later, you may notice that certain objects are missing from your library. These include, but are not limited to Graphic Scale_NCS, NCS Drawing Title, Section Part Marker_NCS, 2D detailer library, etc.
This can happen because some older or regional-specific objects were removed from the default Global Library content to streamline the library structure. To keep these objects available, they are provided separately in a library file called Archicad Legacy Objects.
Solution
To use these objects, you need to load the Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf file through Library Manager.
The location of this file depends on the Archicad version you are using.
Archicad 28
In Archicad 28, the Archicad Legacy Objects library is included in the Archicad application folder.
- Open Library Manager in Archicad.
-
Click Add and navigate to the following file path:
macOS:~/Graphisoft/Archicad 28/Archicad Legacy Objects/Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcfWindows:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\Archicad 28\Archicad Legacy Objects\Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf - Select the Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf file and load it into your project.
- After adding the legacy library, the previously missing objects should be available for use.
Archicad 29 or later
In Archicad 29 or later, the Archicad Legacy Objects library is no longer included by default with the Archicad installation. It must be downloaded separately before it can be added to your project.
- Download the Archicad Legacy Objects library from the Graphisoft Downloads page:
Download Archicad Legacy Objects -
Save the downloaded library file in a safe and permanent location.
Avoid saving it in a temporary folder, Downloads folder, or any location that may later be moved, renamed, or deleted. If the file is moved after being linked, Archicad may report it as missing.
- Open Library Manager in Archicad.
- Click Add and navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf file.
- After adding the legacy library, the previously missing objects should be available for use.
