Issue Description
After generating an Interior Elevation, you open the Viewpoint and it consists of exploded 2D elements such as lines and fills instead of modelling elements (walls, columns, slabs, etc). This prevents you from making modifications from the Interior elevation view and disconnects it from the 3D model.
Solution
This occurs when the Interior Elevation’s Status is set to Drawing instead of Auto-Rebuild Model. When this setting is applied, the elevation is converted into a static 2D representation, meaning all elements are broken down into lines and fills rather than maintaining their original parametric properties.
To retain the interior elevation as a dynamic View that updates with the model, follow these steps:
- Select the Interior Elevation and open the Interior Elevation Selection Settings.
- Locate the Status setting under the General tab.
- Change it from Drawing to Auto-Rebuild Model.
This ensures that the elevation remains linked to the 3D model and updates automatically when modifications are made.
TIP: You may also opt to select the Manual-rebuild option as having too many views with automatic updates can affect the overall performance of the file or project. Just make sure to rebuild the elevation every time you make a relevant change.
