Why is the drawing title rotated on a layout sheet?

Issue Description

When rotating a project’s floor plan on a Layout sheet, the drawing title will also rotate, which is usually undesirable. This article details how to rotate the drawing orientation for documentation purposes while keeping the drawing title horizontal in Archicad.

Solution

The proper way  to rotate a drawing without affecting the Drawing Title is to adjust the orientation at the View Map level instead of directly rotating it once placed on the Layout. Follow these steps:

1. Open your Floor Plan View.
2. In the Quick Options Bar, go to Set Orientation. Orient the Floor Plan on the desired rotation.
   
3. Once the Floor Plan is rotated, go to the View Map in the Navigator tab.
4. Select your View then right-click and choose View Settings.
5. In the View Settings, on the top most portion, select Get Current Window’s Settings.
6. Under the 2D/3D Documents tab, clear the option Ignore zoom and rotation when opening this view.
7. Click OK to save.
