Issue Description
When working on a project that is not oriented at a 90-degree North, it is common to rotate the floor plan to align with specific site features, such as an access road. However, If you rotate the View on the Layout to achieve this alignment, the Drawing Title also rotates, making it appear sideways.
Is there a way to ensure that the Drawing Title remains horizontal even after rotating the View?
Solution
The proper way to rotate a drawing without affecting the Drawing Title is to adjust the orientation at the View Map level instead of directly rotating it once placed on the Layout. Follow these steps:
- Open your Floor Plan View.
- In the Quick Options Bar, go to Set Orientation. Orient the Floor Plan on the desired rotation.
- Once the Floor Plan is rotated, go to the View Map in the Navigator tab.
- Select your View then right Click and choose View Settings
- In the View Settings, on the top most portion, select Get Current Window’s Settings.
- Under the 2D/3D Documents tab, uncheck Ignore zoom and rotation when opening this view.
- Click OK to save.
