How to display railings as a single line only?

Issue description

You modeled an outline fence/railing with the railing tool.  On floor plan views, it is being displayed as a detailed projection. This article explains how to display railings as a single line for a clearer, simplified plan view.

Solution

By default, the display type of Railings is controlled in the Model View Options. However, you can also control it individually in the Railing Selection Settings.

To do this:

1. Open the Railing selection settings.
2. Go to Railing > Floor Plan Symbol Components:
   • disable by Model View Options.
   • Leave only the Toprail checkbox active.
     
3. Now go to Toprail > Toprail component settings > 2D Representation…:
   • Set the Rail Floor Plan Symbol to Axis Only.
   • Enable Visible Lines.
   • Change the Visible Axis Line to the line type of your choice.
4. Click OK to save.
