Migrating your projects from BIMcloud Basic or on-premises BIMcloud to BIMcloud SaaS involves several key steps to ensure a smooth transition:
1. Moving Teamwork projects and libraries:
- Export and Import: You can export Teamwork projects and libraries from your existing BIMcloud and import them into the new BIMcloud SaaS. Snapshots can be included during this transfer.
- Save as PLN/PLA: As a precaution, it's recommended to save your Teamwork projects as solo PLN/PLA files and then re-share them to BIMcloud SaaS.
- Relink Resources: After moving the projects, ensure that all linked elements (hotlinks, drawings, libraries) hosted on the existing BIMcloud are relinked with the new paths on BIMcloud SaaS.
2. Moving files:
- If your current BIMcloud serves as a file server storing various files (PLN, MOD, PDF, JPEG, etc.), you'll need to move these to the new BIMcloud SaaS.
- Download and Upload: Select the files from your current BIMcloud, download them locally, and then upload them to the new BIMcloud SaaS.
3. Moving users and groups:
- In cloud license-based BIMcloud SaaS, user management is based on the Graphisoft ID Company. All BIMcloud users are automatically synced from the Graphisoft ID Company, and manual user creation inside BIMcloud SaaS Manager isn't possible.
- Update Graphisoft ID Company: Ensure that your Graphisoft ID Company is up-to-date, and that every user requiring access is a member.
- Recreate User groups: BIMcloud User groups cannot be imported; you'll need to manually recreate them in the new BIMcloud SaaS. However, BIMcloud SaaS offers several default user groups with predefined accesses to assist in setting up necessary permissions.
4. Moving roles:
- Roles can be exported from the existing BIMcloud and imported into the new BIMcloud SaaS. Nonetheless, BIMcloud SaaS provides default roles with predefined accesses to help set up permissions.
5. Moving accesses:
- Permissions set on the access panels cannot be transferred to another BIMcloud; they must be reset after setting up the new BIMcloud SaaS. The default user groups with predefined accesses can aid in configuring the appropriate permissions.
