Issue Description
The project involves designing with slanted walls. A challenge arose as the designer noticed that some windows were slanted while others remained straight in 3D. How does Archicad handle these distinct window placements?
Solution
Archicad provides a simple yet effective way to determine whether a window aligns with the slant of the wall or remains straight. This behavior is controlled by the "Sun" icon, which appears when inserting a window into a wall. Here's how it works:
- Window Slanted with the Wall:
- If the Sun icon is positioned on the slanted side of the wall, the window will automatically adopt the same slanted orientation as the wall.
- Window Straight Regardless of the Wall:
- If the Sun icon is positioned on the straight side of the wall, the window will remain straight, disregarding the slant of the wall.
The Sun icon serves as the defining factor for the window's orientation, ensuring precise and intuitive placement. By adjusting the icon's side, users can control the alignment of the window to match their design intent.
